Shakespeare Society

The LSU Shakespeare Society is a relatively new society that has bettered itself year on year and aims to cater for everyone no matter what your interests are.
Performing two to three shows per year, usually with large casts, the society aims to involve all its members and we are always on the lookout for new directors, set designers, set builders, costume makers, backstage crew, technicians etc. We also hold many socials, trips and group readings throughout the year - Whatever your interests are you will be able to get involved (even if Shakespeare isn’t necessarily your thing!) 2011 saw our most successful year yet with two full scale productions shown, the comical and witty Much Ado About Nothing shown February 2011 and the bloody, gory Titus Andronicus shown June 2011.
Everyone in the society is extremely friendly and approachable, and it is a great way to meet new people not necessarily on your course or in your halls and the great news is, no previous experience is necessary!
Previous socials have included nights out to the union and town, fancy dress themed nights, trips to Stratford-Upon-Avon’s theatres, The Leicester Curve theatre and Loughborough Town hall, dinners out and casual lunches and drinks before and after rehearsals and meetings.
Use the links at the top of htis page to navigate the site and to find out more information about our current news and forthcoming events, details of our past and most productions and to find some useful links to external educational resources.
So what are you waiting for? Get involved today and make 2012 the best year yet!
