Prayer Room

Alhamdulellah, We'd like to take this opportunity to thank Allah, and to thank Loughborough University for providing us with fantastic worshipping facilities.

The Muslim's Prayer room (accommodating both men and women with segregated sections) is located in the South end of the Brockington Building (Reference No. 57). The prayer room has a capacity for approximately 80 people and is equipped with Wu'dhu (obblution) facilities and toilets for males and females. The prayer room also contains a library of Islamic related books including books on tafseer, seerah, hadith, and other topics.

Usage: Regular Jama'ah (congregation) salaat (prayers) are held daily according to the Jamaat times specified in our Prayer Timetable. The prayer room is also frequently used as a place for solitary worship, reading Qur'an, and relaxation. We hold regular study circles every Monday (check events' calendar for timing).

The Prayer Room is accessible 24-hours/day all days of the week, although a Student card is needed during after-hours to get through the wooden door entrance to the Chaplaincy area. To learn the code please e-mail us at lsuis.info@gmail.com

A Prayer Room Management team exists as part of the LSU Islamic Society committee and their sole purpose is to care for the prayer room. Regular cleaning, and tidying up of both the prayer room and wud'hu facilities. Nonetheless anyone using the prayer room can help with this matter and it will be appreciated by all members of the society, and hopefully it will count towards your good deeds in sha' Allah.

Non-muslims are more than welcome to visit the Prayer Room if they are interested in meeting muslims, discussing Islam or just to feed any curiosity. Best times for visits would be during term on weekdays and during the time of Zuhr Jamaat, when it is likely that many people will be there. Bearing in mind that voices should be kept low, and not to disturb anyone in the process of prayer.
