Congratulations on obtaining your successful results and joining us at one of the best universities in the country.. and an even bigger congratulations on choosing Robert Bakewell as your hall! This is something that will stick with you for your whole Loughborough Experience, and you will never regret it. You will now be a Bobby Bakeweller for life!



What separates Loughborough University from all other universities is simply the excitement, thrill and enthusiasm that you will encounter throughout the year. The opportunities are endless, whether you're getting involved with inter-hall competitions such as sports or RAG, or just having a hilarious time in as many socials as you possibly can handle! You'll feel right at home from the day you arrive, and will be welcomed by all of us here the best hall around – Robert Bakewell!

Robert Bakewell was finished being built in 2009, so it has only been around for year or two at the most! Since then, with the hard work of the union and the two first ever hall committees, it has propelled itself into the elite, being renowned for it’s banter, hall spirit, and a great community! In our first year of 2009-2010, we started many traditions and habits, and we look forward to making even more traditions with you! We’ve been ranked in the top 5 of almost every section which you will definitely come into contact with your stay here, ranging from Rag (charity), IMS (inter hall sports), Action (Helping the Community) and Media - which did an awesome job on the Welcome to Robert Bakewell Hall video in HD below!






Here's some information on which subscription applies to you! Note: All members living in hall, this is an obligatory payment!
There are 7 options

Fresher Subs (Freshers living in halls) - £90. This includes your whole freshers’ week, with entry to all the events, travel, and to some extent food and drink. This also covers your hall subscription, which covers the maintenance of the common room, subsidizing of events, sponsoring of hall students for charity, travel costs, amongst lots other things throughout the year! This is an obligatory payment to all freshers living in halls.

Fresher helper (in hall) - £45. This is for members who live in hall, who are fresher helpers. This includes freshers week entries, and your fresher helper tops. This also includes half price hall subs! Please note only officially elected fresher helpers should buy this product.

Returners Subs (Returners living in halls) - £45. This covers your hall subscription, which covers the maintenance of the common room, subsidizing of events, sponsoring of hall students for charity, travel costs, amongst lots other things throughout the year! This is an obligatory payment to all returners living in halls, including fresher helpers living in hall

Standard Affiliation - £15. This is for members who live outside of hall, who would still like to affiliate to the hall. This means you can take part in all socials, Rag, Action, IMS events. You also have access to our amazing common room, and get the benefit of subsidization of events. This does not include freshers fortnight.

Fresher Helper (out of hall) - £20. This is for members who live outside of hall, who are fresher helpers. This includes freshers week entries, and your fresher helper tops. This also includes half price hall affiliation! Please note only officially elected fresher helpers should buy this product.

Fresher Affiliates - £45. This is for freshers who live outside of hall, ie in a different city or in private residence in town. This covers all the events of freshers week, including entries, travel, and to some extent food and drink . Note – This option is ONLY available to students in their first year of Loughborough University!

Half Year Students - £22.50. This is for Students who lived in halls for either the first or second semesters only. This covers your hall subscription, which covers the maintenance of the common room, subsidizing of events, sponsoring of hall students for charity, travel costs, amongst lots other things throughout the year!
