Hello All,
Well done and welcome to everyone who is starting Loughborough in September!!
My name is Lucy Padolsey and I am the president of the Hall students Federation (HSF) 2010-2011. The Hall Students Federation’s main role is to represent and support all the halls of residence at Loughborough University. It meets every 2 weeks to discuss issues and all members are in constant contact to make sure the hall systems stays strong and efficient. The halls at Loughborough are amazing and offer a once in a lifetime experience that many other university’s try and replicate, but fail dismally as Loughborough experience is unique. It’s fair say that once you have experienced a Loughborough hall life you will be an improved and enlightened human being, far more useful in the big wide world.
The Hall Students Federation is formed from three people. President Lucy Padolsey, Vice president Dominic Bosher and Secretary Pierre Hoeborn. We are former members of the HSF made up of two ex hall chairs and a social chair and so we all like to think that we know what we are talking about. Every Hall has representation on HSF in the form of the Hall Chairs, other members of HSF include the Social Chair, IMS Chair, Treasure Chair, FREEC Chair and a new position Media Chair. The Union Executive is also represented at the fortnightly meetings along with attendance monthly by various members of Imago and the university team. With the variety of people who attend the meetings and the people that they represent we feel that we can keep all aspects of hall life under control and excelling to the best of their abilities.
HSF is here to make sure that all the halls are co-ordinated and up to date with all the relevant news, but we are also here if you feel there is a problem with your hall or anything related. If you feel this is the case and it can not be dealt with internally then please do not hesitate to get in touch with us at hsfpresident@lufbra.net
To all you fresher’s and returners going into halls, make the most of it and enjoy your time in halls!!! The hall system is amazing at Loughborough, FACT!
