Welcome Fresher’s
As part of one of the four All Stars halls (The Foundry, The Printhouse, Asha and Waterways), You are about to start what looks to be an amazing fresher’s week!
In the past (before the incredible invention of your All Star committee) Students in these halls didn’t have anything organised for their fresher’s week and were only affiliated to the campus halls and could join in with their events. Since then, the system has changed and after a rigorous selection process (there were over 200 applicants!) we have come up with the best of Loughborough’s elite to kick off your student life.
As members of a hall, each student has to pay hall subs. For the All Star Halls the subs are £40 and you can pay this below! Make sure you do this ASAP as this pays for the majority of your freshers week including entries and que jumps!!! We will know who hasn’t paid too so you may get a visit from Big Tom…
Officially fresher’s week begins on Tuesday 23rd September (in line with all the other halls) so the first 3 nights are a time for you to get to know the people in your hall that you’ll be spending the next year with. If after getting to know each other you want to go out and explore, there are some good bars on the main streets in town and Echoes is always a big night on Saturday. Remember, Fresher’s starts on Tuesday and will be massive so save yourselves!!! Also, you won’t have any responsible committee members until then so no-one to “escort” you home (or hold back your hair)!!!
So, you’ll probably be thinking what the hell is going on here?! Well… all you need to know is that YOUR fresher’s week is going to be the highlight of your year, and the best and ONLY way to get yourself ‘aquainted’ with the fabled LOUGHBOROUGH EXPERIENCE!!
