The Loughborough Students Union Gliding Club provides sport along with pleasure! Whether you simply want to chill out @ 4000 feet soaring through the clouds or experience the forces of gravity in aerobatics.
We fly aeroplanes (both with but mainly without engines) cheaply.
We are affiliated with the Four Counties Gliding Club of the Royal Air Force Gliding & Soaring Association. Based at Royal Air Force Wittering, flying takes place on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the year and on bank holidays, weather permitting of course! This doesn't mean that the slightest breath of wind has us grounded, though. Our main "enemies" are low cloud, VERY strong winds and rain.
