Hello!!

I’m Maddy Buckley, and I’m your Rag Chair. Rag is the fundraising section of the Union, and it is one of the best things you can get involved with here at Lufbra! Last year we made over a MILLION pounds for a huge range of local, national and international charities, and with your help this year we can raise even more!

There are loads of opportunities for you to get involved with - from skydiving to taking part in Tough Guy, climbing Kilimanjaro or cycling to Paris. You can also travel the country with a collection bucket on a rag raid (anywhere from London to Edinburgh!), make a float for the Mayor’s Parade or come to our annual Fireworks – there really is something for everyone!

    Hello!!

     

    Hope you are all well and getting excited for Freshers!! 3 weeks to go...I can't wait!

     

    I've just come back from an excited week travelling the country on a raid and Rag Conference, and am now back and continuing to plan for next term!

     

    Here are the main things I have been working on since my last report:

    • Rag Mag - finsihing all the final bits for this including text, pictures and securing advertising.
    • Rag Conference - 4 days in Kent meeting Rags and charities from all over the country, taking part in seminars and talks and attending the charity fair. Brilliant and inspiring Keynote speech from the Director of Fundraising from the Red Cross. We also won awards for Best Large Rag and for raising the most for Meningitis Research Foundation this year!
    • London Raid - Took a group of 7 to London to raise in the Underground for Caudwell Children - we raised over £900!
