What We Do
But don't worry if you're not a seasoned pro yet! We cater for all ranges of experience, from people who have never driven anything at all to people racing in the Porsche GT3 Cup and Caterham championships. The best thing is you get to learn from all these guys, some of whom are (almost) household names... Or so they like to think!

So what do the club do in a year?

1. The Lufbra Kart Club Championship. Held over (at least) 6 rounds this is the club's in house championship, pitting all members against each other in order to become club champion. This is your opportunity to take on over 80 drivers in a bid to become the best driver in Loughborough and to guarantee your space on the team representing the university at the BUKC. We visit loads of circuits throughout the season (including Whilton Mill, Sutton Circuit and PF International) so there's an opportunity for a lot of racing!

2. The BUKC. The British Universities Karting Championship is a prestigious championship, with rounds taking place all over the country, from the northern borders to the southern coast. World karting champions, GP2 drivers and absolute beginners on track all at the same time racing to take the title. Loughborough have been in the top 3 for the last 4 years and have a superb record in the championship, hopefully you too will be selected to represent us and race for glory.

3. Training. But if what you really want from the club is coaching and the opportunity to push forward with developing your racing technique then don't worry, you're covered too! The BUKC team is on hand with the club's own 125cc Rotax kart to offer one to one tuition that will dramatically improve your results. Some of these guys have raced at international level so you really are in the best of hands.

On top of this there is also plenty of opportunity to get pit side with some of the club members when they head out to do their own racing, whether single seaters, saloons, sports or even motorbikes. Fingers crossed some members will also be going out to the Nurburgring again this year, so make sure you get involved!
