Gliding

The Loughborough Students Union Gliding Club is THE club for people who want to fly. Whether you simply want to chill out at 4000 feet soaring through the clouds, experience the forces of gravity in aerobatics or enjoy the thrill of long distance cross country racing, there really is something for everyone.

We go flying every weekend and if you come regularly you can go solo within the year and could easily cost you less than £200. Instruction is free and you only pay £4.20 for 10 minutes and then ONLY £12/hour after that. Even better if you fly in our own glider you only pay £4.20 whether for 10 minutes or two hours! Gliding is the cheapest, most rewarding and quite simply best way to fly so why not join us?

Based at Royal Air Force Wittering, flying takes place on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the year and on bank holidays, weather permitting of course! This doesn't mean that the slightest breath of wind has us grounded, though. Our main "enemies" are low cloud, VERY strong winds and rain.}}
