The Student Experience Committee
The University have a Student Experience Team that's main aim is to enhance the student experience, find out what they can improve and make sure we xontinue to win the the award for the best student satisfaction! Of course, they invite the union president along to represent the student view, and so as an exec we bring together all the issues we feel need fighting for students, from what we've been told.
What are WE bringing to the Committee this Year?
This is what we are bringing to the committee this year:
- -Phone Signal issues in the UPP Halls (ie, Elvyn, Robert Bakewell, John Phillips and Rig Rut)
- -Continue to push for informal green space
- -Improve department assessment and feedback
- -Exam timetables-when they are released/how accessible rooms are communicated during the exam period
- -The implications of rising hall fees on the individual student experience (ie less returners in halls means less people going for hall committee etc. all factors effected the student experience)
- -Can we utilise past date to investigate any trends into the negative impacts of hall fees/let lengths. Can recommendations be made from this?
- -Roaming lunch cards so you can eat in any dining room during the day (useful for engineering students etc.)
- -Are some students entitled to a romaing lunch cards to ensure they can make their lectures and still have lunch?
- Improve university PR for Union Awards evening
- Campus transport
What do YOU think?
Are there any big issues YOU can think of we havn't addressed? We know of course, this doesn't cover everything, but some issues are dealt with internally, within departments and within sections. However if YOU can of anything leave a comment below! I'll try and respond, so it's really important we hear from you!
