Right to Read is a project where volunteers go into a local school to read one-to-one with children with below average reading abilities who, as a result, are often lacking in confidence. Volunteers are assigned four or five children who they will 'read' with on each visit. This is a flexible volunteering commitment of just one hour a week. The children benefit greatly as their confidence in reading builds and the volunteers find making a difference to a child's academic progress both rewarding and enjoyable.
