Action - Ghana 2012 - Summer Trip

Next year LSU action will once again be working with Thrive Africa, a not for profit UK organisation run solely on the efforts of volunteers. Together, we aim to assist in the development of schools and communities across Africa. We believe everyone deserves an equal opportunity; and our projects aim to fulfil this belief. For our project this summer (August 2nd - August 30th) we will be looking for around 24 volunteers each of whom should be looking to raise £1000 to go towards the project costs, plus the costs of flights expected to be in the region of £450.

What have we got planned for the trip?

With 24 volunteers we hope to get a lot done in a short space of time such as building water pumps in villages that have no clean water supply and building bookcases for newly built libraries in schools. Teaching maths, English and science as well as encouraging school attendance through sport and other activities. Not to mention seeing some unbelievable sights such as waking up to the sounds of elephants outside your room in Mole National Park before going on a safari, to sitting on the beautiful golden beaches of Cape Coast after a hard weeks work with your fellow volunteers.
